Megora McGonagall
Editor in Chief and Webmistress
(If you want the story about the real Meg McGonagall, click
here.)
Born to British parents living in the Canadian Yukon, Meg was a happy child.
Artemis and Molly McGonagall, Meg's parents, were world renowned for their
daring spirits, and their intelligence. Artemis, an inventor and all around
uber-brain, was best known for finding the cure for certain forms of the
Babbling Curses, and for writing wonderful children's books under the pen
name of "Dr. Suess." Although, it was believed that at the time of writing
those works, he was experimenting with his antidotes for babbling curses
by cursing himself -- hence the somewhat tedious manner of his poems.
Molly McGonagall spent the majority of her time at home, taking care of Meg
and teaching her valuable life skills, such as how to build tree houses,
and the principals of quantum mechanics.
When Meg was six, her parents went exploring for a snow bunny, never to return.
Voldemort, who had been hunting them because of her parents' connections
with Albus Dumbledore's 'Old Gang', killed them in the middle of no where.
Orphaned and all alone in the Yukon, she was rescued by Canadian Mounties
-- they always get their wizards. Enthralled by the style of the mountie's
"darling" red uniforms, "and those great hats," Meg went along with them,
travelling back to Toronto, where she would begin her journey back to the
United Kingdom.
Once on the Trans-Atlantic Knight Bus, she was on her way to her Aunt's home
outside Edinburgh, Scotland. Her Aunt, Minerva McGonagall, was Artemis' elder
sister and Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Meg enjoyed her new life in Scotland, and with her Aunt. Minerva instilled
in Meg a love for Transfiguration, leading to Meg becoming the youngest
registered Animagi in all of the UK. (She's a panther.)
Meg's Godfather, Albus Dumbledore (long-time friend of the McGonagall family
and Headmaster of Hogwarts), tutored 'Meggers' as soon as she arrived in
Scotland. She graduated with top honors at the age of thirteen.
Currently Meg is enjoying a quiet life in Hogsmeade, where she runs a quaint
Bed & Breakfast, The RCMP (which stands for Really Comfy Mattresses...
and Pie. [Meg's well-known for her Chocolate Pie.]).
Heather Lawver: The Method Behind the Megness
Yes, there really is a real Meg McGonagall, only her name isn't Meg McGonagall.
Heather Lawver is a young American lady, born to a military family in North Carolina.
She denies that she's really "from" anywhere, since she's moved over a dozen
times in her lifetime. She currently resides in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, but has also lived in such places as
South Carolina, Mississippi, Arizona, and Italy.
Heather's hobbies include writing, painting, traveling, and web design/scripting, among others.
She runs a very large variety of websites, including her own non-profit organization, Prophet Incorporated, and a web design company,
InkBlot, Inc.
She's been homeschooled since the first grade, and will be attending college
at some point in the near future, as soon as business stuff calms down. She was supposed to start college
when she was 12, but a long-lasting illness has delayed her higher education.
(Her illness was a recurring bone infection in her left great toe.)
If you still want to know more, email
her. She's a relatively pleasant person and does her best to answer all
emails personally. But sometimes she's pretty busy, so please allow around
2 weeks for a reply. She tries to answer faster, but sometimes it's just
unavoidable. Or, if you'd like to know more without emailing, you can visit her personal online journal (otherwise known as a "blog") by clicking here. |
Meg's (Heather's) Blog
Here's my blog. It's just temporary for now until I can get my official
personal page back up. But, it's still kinda fun, in a nosey sorta way. :)
HeatherShow.com: This will be the new home for my blog once I've finished programming the website.
HeatherLawver.com: My online portfolio and
general resume.
HeatherStreet.com: A silly little project I started where I take photographs of streets that share my name.
Prophet Incorporated: My 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which I started in order to further expand and beautify the Daily Prophet. It's taken a ton of hard work and I'm very proud of it.
InkBlotInc.com: This is my
Web Design company, the one that I use to create all these pages. It'll be
up once I find the time to work on the website again...
NCDesign.org A great resource
for learning how to code HTML and CSS. Come on, be a geek!
